About us
"Pride in our community, pride in our veterans"
We are Armed Forces Community Support - an independent registered charity (no 1168398) which was set up in 2016 by ex-service personnel who wanted to use their own stories and experiences to help fellow veterans.
We run the Veterans Support Centre in Orford Park, Warrington, which acts as a ‘one stop shop’ to support the Armed Forces community in Warrington and wider Cheshire area. Our services are completely free of charge and open to all former armed forces, early service leavers, current serving personnel, reservists and their families.
It's all under one roof, and we can help with:
- welfare issues or mental health
- education, training and employment
- housing
- health and wellbeing
- homelessness
- debt and benefits
- drug and alcohol issues/dependency/addiction
- social inclusion
- reintegration back in to Civvy Street.
The Veterans Support Centre offers ample free parking, with full disability access, and you are welcome to drop in within our weekday opening hours - 10am to 3pm in winter, and 10am to 5pm in summer.
Who are we and how do we work?
We are almost exclusively staffed by volunteers who are veterans themselves, and we don't simply signpost you to available support services. We will 'walk with you' every step of the way to ensure you're not alone when making sense of what can often be complicated, confusing and time-consuming processes to get help.

Our ethos
Our ethos is 'pride in our community, pride in our veterans' because we strongly believe in eliminating feelings of exclusion and alienation some ex-servicemen and women can have. Through our many projects, training courses and events, we support them to feel part of our local community and play a positive role in its development.
Our funding
We are funded by a combination of council contracts, donations and income from our fundraising activities, which include hiring out the Veterans Support Centre's main hall.
Our governance
You're in good hands - we take a professional, confidential approach and strive to protect your privacy and dignity. We are fully GDPR compliant, Association of Service Drop-in Centre (ASDIC) accredited, recognised by the Confederation of Service Charities (Cobseo) and hold the Armed Forces Covenant - Bronze Award.
